DEL NORTE—The Town of Del Norte Clean Up Day held Friday, April 21 was a very successful event.
The town’s public works department and Trustee Bob Muncy helped local residents get their trash into the dumpsters. The town collected over 24 tons of trash with several town residents taking advantage of the free offer. Lunch was provided by the town of Del Norte; volunteers Leighanne Lobato and Shelby Martinez helped feed the volunteers hamburgers and hot dogs.
The town would like to thank the High Valley Community Center children that helped clean up the river walk area; Del Norte Trustee Mark Ulrich, who went through town picking up trash that was left by residents that had no means of getting their yard trash to the dumpster area; Justin Gates with MDS Disposal for getting dumpsters to and from SLV Regional Landfill.
It was a great trashy day in Del Norte.
