RiGHT hosting Pam Houston book signing

Pam Houston

DEL NORTE— Earlier this year, the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust (RiGHT) completed a conservation easement on Pam Houston’s ranch in Mineral County. It was an honor for RiGHT to protect this land that is so close and dear to Pam’s heart.
In celebration, the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust is hosting Pam Houston, local author from Creede, for a book reading and fundraiser at the Windsor Hotel on July 31. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Windsor’s courtyard with its food truck open for business.
Houston will begin with a short book reading and presentation on her recently published book, “Deep Creek” and will have a book signing after her presentation.
“Deep Creek” tells the remarkable story of “that girl who dared herself to buy a ranch, dared herself to dig in and care for it, to work hard enough to pay for it, to figure out what other people mean when they use the word ‘home’…”
Houston’s stories have been selected for volumes of The O. Henry Awards, The Pushcart Prize, Best American Travel Writing, and Best American Short Stories of the Century among other anthologies. She is the winner of the Western States Book Award, the WILLA Award for contemporary fiction, the Evil Companions Literary Award and several teaching awards.
Join us at the Windsor for this fun opportunity to meet Houston, support your community land trust, and try the Windsor’s newest food truck menu!
