Del Norte was a coastal village for the town’s Christmas on the Beach Parade of Lights celebration on Dec. 7.

DEL NORTE — Town residents lined the parade route early in Del Norte to see floats straight from the beach on Dec. 7, followed by a double-budget fireworks display.
Sponsors pooled resources for extra fireworks before Santa Claus met with children at the High Valley Community Center. HVCC served hot, hearty soup for a long line of Santa fans. Up and down Grande Avenue, fires glowed outside. Businesses opened their doors and served hot chocolate and other Christmas treats.
Float winners include: Gateway Church, Rio Grande Hospital and Beauty Max Salon. They will receive recognition from the Del Norte Chamber of Commerce.
