Medicare program today in Monte Vista

MONTE VISTA— Tri-County Senior Citizens will host a Medicare program on Thursday,  Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at 311 Washington St. South Central Colorado Seniors/SHIP will be on hand with information on various programs available through their agency.

URG ED meeting Thursday, Feb. 12

MONTE VISTA— The Upper Rio Grande Economic Development monthly breakfast meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 a.m. at the Mountain View Restaurant in Monte Vista. The program will be by Corbett Hefner, Power Zone’s vice president of research and development/business development. Hefner will talk about Power Zone Equipment Inc.’s recent branching of its agricultural department with the establishment of Formation Ag, Inc. in Monte Vista. The company division will allow for better service and future growth with the industrial hemp industry. Agricultural projects will be moved over to the newly establish Formation Ag for continued development, fabrication, and service.   

Clerk’s office closing early

DEL NORTE— The Rio Grande County Clerk & Recorder’s office will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 for employee training. The office will reopen on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 8 a.m. and will resume regular business hours. For more information, call 657-3334.

Medical Hall of Fame seeks nominees

SAN LUIS VALLEY— Committee members are seeking qualified submissions for future SLV Medical Hall of Fame honorees. The criteria is that the nominee would have contributed to health care of the San Luis Valley community through their profession and been an active community member. The nominee should also be retired or no longer working in that capacity.  Submissions should be in writing to Donna Wehe, SLV Health, 106 Blanca Ave, Alamosa, CO  81101 or [email protected], no later than Feb. 28, 2019.
