Dr. Barton Giessel.

DEL NORTE— Rio Grande Hospital’s Monte Vista Medical Clinic welcomes Dr. Barton Giessel.
Dr. Giessel was born and raised in Texas and brings with him a kindness and competence that is easy to see. He trained at the University of Texas, Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and University of Missouri - Columbia.
He recently left a practice in Corsicana, Texas (near Dallas) for the San Luis Valley. He and his loving wife, Jamie, have been wanting to move to the mountains and away from the metro area for some time. After a search of many health systems, he felt Rio Grande Hospital was the perfect fit.
r. Giessel shared, “I spoke with the CEO Arlene Harms, and it was refreshing to hear her straightforwardness. Then my wife and I met with many of the staff, and we knew it was a great fit.”
Giessel is the father of four children and a grandfather (aka Big G) to four. Besides being an avid music lover, he enjoys cooking, foreign movies, playing his guitar and hiking. Many patients at the clinic have already referred to him as a breath of fresh air.
