LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Kreutzer announces bid for school board

I am pleased to announce my run for the Del Norte School Board.
A fourth generation Colorado native, I was raised in the San Luis Valley, and after graduating from college (B.S. Mathematics) and working in the Denver area, I returned to Del Norte in 2011 with my husband, Will, to join the family business with Pam and John Bricker. Will and I work and live in Del Norte with our two little boys who are proud to call themselves Del Norte Tigers.
I have served as the Director of Technology for Colorado Digital Learning Solutions (formerly Colorado Online Learning) since its inception in 2002. Colorado Digital Learning Solutions (CDLS) is a state grant-funded online learning program that works cooperatively with rural schools and students state-wide to provide supplemental online course options. I also help in the family business, Three Barrel Brewing Company, in Del Norte.
After being away from the San Luis Valley and then returning, I have a renewed appreciation for rural communities and the quality of life here in Del Norte and the rest of the Valley.  I feel privileged to be raising my family here and am excited about the growth and direction our community is taking.”
My 15 years of experience with CDLS has given me the knowledge and understanding of issues that small, rural districts face.
Additionally, I serve on the Board of Directors for Headstart (Rio Grande Child Development and Family Services) and High Valley Community Center in Del Norte, which gives me even more insight into the needs of our children and youth.
As a parent of children who both began their education at Headstart and are now at Del Norte Elementary, I am deeply involved and invested in the future of families in Del Norte and surrounding communities.
Bridget Kreutzer,
Del Norte
