Jacquland Theresa (Jackie) Manzanares, 70

MONTE VISTA— Lifelong Monte Vista resident Jacquland Theresa (Jackie) Manzanares passed away on Aug. 17, 2017.
Jackie was born May 29, 1947 to Isaac and Viola Martinez. She married Earl Manzanares on Feb. 4, 1966.
Jackie enjoyed being with her family. She followed her children in sports and school events, as well as all her nephews and nieces. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, going camping and singing with the church choir. She especially loved going to casinos and playing bingo and playing poker with her family. Jackie was a member of VFW Auxiliary 3228. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Choir.
Jackie is survived by her loving children Jamie (DeAnna) Manzanares of Littleon; Melissa (Weylen) Vigil of Colorado Springs and Lucas Manzanares of Monte Vista; her loving grandchildren Alex (Victoria) Lovato of Albuquerque, N.M.; Tiffany (Brandon) Albert of Alamosa; Weylen Vigil Jr. of Texas; Mackenzie Manzanares and Cameron Manzanares of Littleon; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Isabel Lovato.
Before her passing, her greatest happiness was holding her great-grandbaby Isabel who was born Dec. 26, 2016. Also surviving are Jackie’s brother Ronald (Carol) Martinez and sister Peggy Haley Martinez, both of Monte Vista and many nephews and nieces who loved her very much.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents Isaac and Viola Martinez and her husband Earl Manzanares.
Cremation was chosen. A recitation of Rosary will be held on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m. also at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow services at San Luis Valley Cemetery.
Jackie’s son-in-law Weylen Vigil, funeral director of Chapel of Memories in Colorado Springs, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
