Important dates announced for upcoming school year

Alamosa School District
ALAMOSA—The Alamosa School District is continuing the online registration process for the 2018-2019 school year. Online registration will be from July 30 to Aug. 10. To register any student who finished the 17-18 school year with the Alamosa School District and will be returning for the 18-19 school year, follow the steps listed below.
1. Log into your Power School Parent Account at
2. Select the “Continuous Student Registration” icon from the left side of the screen.
3. Fill out the 2018-2019 form.
4. Select Submit and logout of the registration form.
If you do not remember your password, select “Forgot Username or Password?” Type in your parent username and parent email address, then select enter. An email with directions on how to reset your password will be sent to the associated parent email. If that is no longer your email, please make arrangements to come to Alamosa Elementary 3-5 building on Aug. 6 or 7 (see details below).
Online registration help desk at Alamosa Elementary 3-5: Aug. 6, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Aug. 7 from 7 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. If you need assistance after Aug. 7, please visit any school building between 9 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 8-10 (Wednesday through Friday).
If you do not complete the registration process by Aug. 10, your student will be disenrolled from all classes to make room for students who have enrolled.

Center School District
CENTER— Center School registration and CHAMP will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2 in the high school gym. Health screenings, school registration, immunization checks, technology, asthma and allergy info, physicals for middle school and high school athletes and dental screenings will take place. First through fifth grade students should attend between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., and sixth through 12 grade students should attend from 1-4 p.m.

Creede High School
CREEDE— Creede High School students will be able to check their schedules on Aug. 16 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Also on that day, at 2 p.m., student drivers should come to school prepared to apply for a parking permit. This year there will be a designated student parking area and all cars must have a parking permit in the window. Bring the following: parking permit form completed with parent’s signature (find online at:; auto registration; proof of insurance; driver’s license; $10. The office will make copies of the items to include in your student file. School will begin for all students on Monday, Aug. 20.

Del Norte Middle/High School
DEL NORTE— Del Norte Middle and High School Athletics and the Rio Grande Clinic will be conducting free athletic physicals for Del Norte middle and high school students on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the Tiger Fieldhouse from 5-7 p.m.

Moffat School District
MOFFAT — Parents are invited to come to Moffat School anytime between July 30-Aug. 9, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., to register their children for school.

Moffat Schools offers an industrial arts program, full-day kindergarten, full-day preschool, free, nutritious breakfasts and lunches for students, art, music and physical education for all students.

Monte Vista High School
MONTE VISTA — The Monte Vista High School shares the following information in preparation for the upcoming school year:
• The first day of school will be Monday, Aug. 20, starting at 7:30 a.m.
• A mandatory parent and student meeting will be held in the gym on Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. for all participating in extracurricular activities.
• Registration for all high school students will be Tuesday, Aug. 14. Students will receive their class schedule, locker assignment, student packet, and Chromebook information. Parents may accompany their student to fill out Chromebook paperwork, and pay any related fees.  Students have the option of using their own laptop/device.  The schedule for registration is: 9-10:30 a.m. freshmen, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. sophomores, 1-2:30 p.m. juniors, 2:30-4 p.m. seniors.
• Back to School Parent/Student Orientation Night will be Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 5-7 p.m. for all MVHS students and parents. Students/parents will pick up their class schedule in the cafeteria, and pay any class/Chromebook fees starting at 5 p.m.  An “assembly” in the gym follows at 5:30 p.m. and then a visit to each class in the “school day.”
• Homecoming Week starts Monday, Sept. 17.
• Picture day will be Tuesday, Oct. 9.
A mailer with specific information and paperwork should have arrived to households by July 31.  With further questions about schedules or other issues, please call the high school at 852-3586. The offices will be open starting Aug. 6.

Mountain Valley School District
SAGUACHE— The Mountain Valley School open house will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet teachers and learn all about the coming year. Enrollment packets are currently available at Mountain Valley School.

North Conejos School District
CONEJOS COUNTY— North Conejos School District student registration will be held Aug. 8 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. and Aug. 9 from 8-11:30 a.m. at Centauri High School.
New students to the district will need to register Aug. 6 or 7 at the school you will be attending. Please bring birth certificate, immunization record and any information that would be helpful.

Sanford School District
SANFORD— Sanford School’s Jumpstart program runs July 30 to Aug. 9 from 8-11:30 a.m. New student registration will be on Aug. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Current student registration will be on Aug. 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first day of school will be Aug. 20.

Sangre de Cristo School District
MOSCA— The Sangre de Cristo School District CHAMP event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 1 from 3-7 p.m. There will be an all-day open house on Thursday, Aug. 16.

Sargent Elementary School
MONTE VISTA—Elementary registration will be held on Monday, Aug. 13 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the elementary gym. Students that attended kindergarten round-up for incoming kindergarteners do not need to attend registration on Aug. 13.
Sargent Elementary School will have a staggered start. Listed below is the assigned day that your child will come the first week. This is determined by your child’s last name.
A–K: Monday, Aug. 20
L—Z: Tuesday, Aug. 21
Everyone begins on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
There will be a new online registration this year. Even though you complete the online registration, you will still need to attend registration day and sign paperwork. The paperwork will be very minimal.

Sierra Grande School District
BLANCA— The Sierra Grande School District registration will be held in the auditorium on Aug. 1 and 2 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. (Closed for lunch from 12 to 1:30 p.m.) Please contact 719-379-3257 ext. 1013 for additional information.
