Farmers market coming back to Del Norte this summer

Del Norte will be hosting a farmers market this year with fresh produce, arts and crafts as well as some live entertainment on Wednesdays starting in June.

DEL NORTE— It has been a few years since a farmers market has made its way to Del Norte, and this year, the town will have the pleasure of hosting one again. Karen Miller is known around the west end of the Valley as the farmers market guru as she has been a key player in the South Fork Farmers Market, Creede Farmers Market and now Del Norte. “We are so excited to be able to bring this to the Del Norte community,” said Miller.

The market will feature fresh locally grown vegetables as they come to season, art and crafts, fun activities and more. It will offer a great place for locals to come and get healthy local food from vendors like Laz Ewe 2 Bar Ranch with their wide variety of goat milk-based products, art vendors from around the area carrying everything from children toys to handmade clothes and jewelry.

The event will take place starting in June and run through September every Wednesday from noon until 4 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Boogies Restaurant. “We are hoping to recruit people to come out and join us on Wednesdays. Vendors of any kind are always welcome and can have a spot for a small $10 booth fee. We also will be looking for local entertainment to come out and join in on the fun,” said Miller.

The summer is coming in fast, and there will be plenty to do in the area. For more information or to sign up as a vendor, please contact Miller at 719-873-5466 or through email at [email protected].
